There is a difference between thrill-seekers and adrenaline sportsmen and this video demonstrates the fine line...  The clearly, very experienced skier knows how to stay on a monoski at high speed, but he was lucky not to have been cold-cocked by the whipping tow bar as he manuvered to get a hand on the tow line that dropped from the airplane!  And fortunate again to more or less fall on his butt when he wiped out.  If he had been bounced along the lake at 100 Km (60 MPH) that would have been severe as well.  Exciting stuff, for sure, but pushing the limits...  No doubt about that!
