Great upset in Day1 of 2013 IIHF World Championship Preliminary Round, with underdog Switzerland which defeated 3-2 home team Sweden, in a very surprising result. The Swiss team got a double advantage in second period with Matthias Bieber and Nino Niederreiter, while late in the second Sweden scored with Johan Fransson. In the third Switzerland resisted until the end, when Ryan Gardner scored with the Swede net empty. With 23 seconds left in the game Simon Hjalmarsson scored the final 2-3.
