Stopping 'in the middle of nowhere'
After the first few days of riding, we all decided that if any one of us felt that we were "riding in the middle of nowhere", we should stop and mark the occasion... So I did. I literally stopped my bike and put the stand down in the middle of the road we were on. Because we were not travelling on interstate highways, rather Route 101, there was absolutely no traffic; so parking in the middle of the road was not an issue... After wandering around stretching our legs for 10-15 minutes, we would head off again...
