After two years of Karate classes, and six weeks of putting in as much as 10 hours per week, it was such a pleasure to stand behind my Daisempai with my new Green Belt firmly tied around my waste... My friend Dennis Dwyer (kneeling directly to Sensei's right), who earned Black Belt Sho in his promotion, subsequently, generously offered me his Green Belt -- handing down your belts to up-coming students is a long tradition and an honor in our school.
