Day 9 - Kickin' back on the verandah of the big house

It felt pretty comfortable being Lord of the Manor for the five minutes we sat down on the grand verandah.  We didn't get a picture of it, but it was interesting that the verandah had a strong 5% decline (as in, falling away) from the house.  Understandable; to ensure that rain water went in the right direction.  But I had never seen this before. Turns out that this plantation house is the oldest remaining one in the U.S., so this architecture must have been standard for the day.
