Day 7 - Pontoon boats on the dry lake bed
Travelling up Route 28 I saw all of these pontoon boats and house boats sitting on the dry lake bed. I first thought that they were a casualty of a drought, but found out from the locals that they actually drain the lake for the winter so that it can be refilled by the spring run-off from the snow melt... Go figure!
