No, Beatice, these aren't elk... They are normal North American deer. They stand about 5 feet (1.5 m) tall at their heads. While you can't see them in this pic, these creatures also have short 20-30 cm tails that are completely white on their undersides, which stand up when they run.

Indeed no tails. I now remember that the elk I saw in Canada had bigger ears! Are there no elk in that part of America? But why do you post your pictures in such a way that you cannot enlarge them to the full screen, which for this picture would have been nice. All the ones I posted on lifedotsport come to the full screen when you click on them. You must explain how you post them so that they cannot become larger!???
