Ombra saw a beautiful Bolete mushroom early on in our hike up Monument Mtn, so we spent more time walking up through the brush on the edges of the trail... before long, my backpack was full! These will make a fine sauce for tonight's pasta! Yum!!
The beauty of the Internet... We came home and researched all of the mushrooms for a few hours to be sure they were not going to put us down. Once we were confident they were indeed edible, Ombra prepared a nice sauce with garlic and olive oil to go with the rigatoni. Delicious! Particularly after all of the effort that went into them...

Happy to read you researched all the mushrooms! You have your own Italian chef, lucky you! I love Italian cuisine, French too and Japanese and... I am not a specialist in Italian cuisine though, do not even know what rigatoni are?
