Should we keep our guide... or not???

I never knew terms like "water bugs" (a type of narrow and active whitewater boat), nor how to pull a passenger back into the boat when they get tossed out in rough water, but I did when we were done... An amazing experience and scenery to die for!

So how do you do it Ron? I mean pull a passenger back into the boat when they get tossed out in rough water?

It is all about leveraging your own weight, Beatrice.

You grab the person with two hands, if possible, and throw yourself backwards with all your might.  The net result is that the person you are rescuing gets pulled back (hopefully completely) into the boat while you find your way to the floor of the boat... (The good news is that the boat is made completely of rubber and so the floor is soft!)

When you are bumping and banging into large rocks and dropping into big holes on a rapid river, the whole rescue exercise is even more dramatic...

Hope that is understandable? Laughing

Sure! Did this in Costa Rica, the guide spoke Spanish, so I enjoyed speaking too and did not want to toss him into the water. Did they make you jump into the water with all your clothes on afterwards too? Maybe I should post those pictures?
