Kiting in Costa Rica - Christmas 2009

After initially taking a course at the Outer Banks of North Carolina (where the wind gods were not evident), Ombra and I decided that the best way to learn to kite would be to go to Bahia Salinas, Costa Rica (on the west coast, bordering Nicaragua).  We went down for four weeks over the Christmas/New Year 2009/2010.  The wind blows as hard as 40 mph there in that period, but for sure it blows every day and that is what is needed to get this sport.  I'm happy to report that it was a successful trip and, not only did we learn to kite, but we met some wonderful new friends...
