NYC > MIA

After a very long time in NYC, Ombretta and I decided to pull up stakes and bust a move to MIA (Miami, for those who don't know that airline code).  Too many compelling reasons to head south, not the least of which is the prospect of kiteboarding every day all winter long... ;o)

We took 30 days to purge, pass along (things of value to others) and pack 15 years of our Manhattan life.  90% of it went into storage, the other 10% of our personal effects - all 1/2 ton of it - was shipped to our new home in South Beach.  What an effort!  I'm posting our last ten day count down of all the things that had to get done to finish the move; hurricane Sandy not withstanding, we managed to complete the task as planned.

This past Thursday, Nov. 15th, we were looking at Manhattan in our rear view mirrors... Of course, we're riding our motorcycles down!  How else should we go on this new adventure?! ;o)

So this is the first post of our NYC>MIA travelogue... and I'll be posting everyday for those who want to follow us down to the sunshine state...
