I was 19 years old, living in an island village of 3,000 people and I had just been selected in the amateur draft by the NHL Champions, Montreal Canadiens AND by the upstart World Hockey Association (WHA) Champions, Winnipeg Jets.  This article in the Vancouver Island major newspaper tells the story of my dilemma...  Gotta love the photo -- both innocent and with long hair! ;o)
