As it turned out, exactly at the time I turned pro (1972/73) a new skate was developed by Lange (the ski boot and other sportswear company) in Montreal. Because I was having trouble with my feet and my Super Tac skates (which were made by CCM), the team trainer told me that they had been approached by Lange and perhaps I'd like to try them. In fact, Pierre Buchard and I were the testers... I was thrilled with these skates because the material liner was like wearing slippers, while the outer plastic shell was great protection! I took them right away and never looked back... Apart from changing the odd hinge that connected the back to the boot from time to time, or the plastic Tuuk blade holder (Tuuks came along about a year or two after Lange skates), I wore the same skates almost my entire carreer. These are the championship skates....
