This privacy policy applies to all members and visitors to, our website.
This privacy policy together with our Terms of Service and any other documents referred to on it sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.
Your use of our site means that you accept, and agree to abide by, all the policies in this privacy policy, which supplement our Terms.
Being part of life.sport means sharing information about yourself and your sports interests with others, communicating with them, as well as working privately on your own. By default, your account is set up to share the information that we have found the vast majority of our Members are interested in sharing.
Here are the three main types of information on life.sport:
Information about yourself that you share. This is the information that your friends and other members see about you. This includes your profile and your contributions to discussions on life.sport,
Communication. We help you communicate with friends and other members. Some of this is one-to-one, some of it is in groups, and some of it is public discussion. You decide how much or how little you wish to communicate to individuals or groups.
Private activity. We intend to provide tools that you can use privately on life.sport (for example, searching, or adding notes to your connections information .These actions and information are private and we don't share or distribute them to others on the website.
Of course, maintaining your trust is our top concern, so we adhere to the following principles to protect your privacy:
• We do not rent, sell, or otherwise provide your personally identifiable information to third parties without your consent, except as described in this policy or as required by law.
• We do not share any information you have not chosen to display on your life.sport profile to other parties, unless compelled by law, or as necessary to enforce our Member Agreement or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of life.sport, it’s Members, and the public.
• All information that you provide will be protected with industry standard protocols and technology.
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by means of a notice on our home page so that you may access and review the changes to this document in advance of your continued use of the service. By continuing to use the life.sport service after notice of changes has been sent to you or published on the life.sport website, you are consenting to the changes.

1. Information Collected
We may collect and process the following data about you:
• Information that you provide by filling in forms on our site. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our site, subscribing to our service, posting material or requesting further services such as information on training, coaching, events etc. We may also ask you for information when you enter a competition or promotion and when you report a problem with our site.
• If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
• We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
• Details of your visits to our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, web logs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access
We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our Members’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.
In order to connect with others on life.sport, you may use the Services to send invitations either to their life.sport profiles or email addresses of people you know if they have not registered with life.sport. The names and email addresses of people whom you invite will be used to send your invitations and reminders as well as to allow life.sport to help expand your network. Please note that when you send an invitation to connect to another Member, that Member will have access to your email address because it is displayed in the invitation. Your life.sport connections will also have access to your email address. You may not invite anyone you do not know and trust to connect with you.
We receive information when you interact with and use the life.sport website, life.sport Applications (e.g. life.sport for iPhone, Android, etc.), and life.sport platform technology (such as “What’s on my mind” plugins for publishers etc.). For example, we know when you click on ads, upload your address book, join fansites, participate in polls, install a life.sport mobile application, share articles on life.sport, etc.
For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general Internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalized service. They enable us:
• To estimate our audience size and usage pattern.
• To store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customize our site according to your individual interests.
• To speed up your searches.
• To recognize you when you return to our site.
You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our site. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to our site. life.sport does not store unencrypted personally identifiable information in the cookies.
Please note that when a third party advertises on our site they too may also use cookies. Unfortunately we have no control over these cookies.
To support the Services we provide at no cost to our Members, as well as to provide a more relevant and useful experience for our Members, we may target and serve our own ads and third-party ads both on and off the site using ad networks. Ad networks include third party ad servers, ad agencies, ad exchanges, ad technology vendors and research firms.
We target ads to Members based on general profile categories (e.g., “volleyball players in California”) or on non-personally identifiable information inferred from a Member’s profile (e.g., football, current or former team, body weight, championships, gender, age, or other aspects of your life) in addition to a Member’s use of life.sport or their clicking on life.sport ad inventory. life.sport does not provide personally identifiable information to any third party ad network.
We may use ad technology such as web beacons, pixels, anonymous ad network tags, and cookies to more effectively serve ads to our Members on and off life.sport through ad networks, as well as to collect anonymous aggregated audited research and reporting for advertisers. Because your web browser requests advertisements and web beacons directly from ad network servers, these networks can view, edit or set their own cookies, just as if you had requested a web page from their site.
You have a right to access, modify, correct and eliminate the data you supplied to life.sport. If you update any of your information, we may keep a copy of the information that you originally provided to us in our archives for uses documented in this policy. You may request deletion of your information at any time by contacting life.sport here. . We will respond to your request within 15 working days. Please note, however that information you have shared with others, or that other Members have copied, may also remain visible even if you request its deletion.
life.sport may retain your information for so long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, except in the case of our professional plugin impression data, which we de-identify after 12 months. If you wish to close your account, you may do so here {http://www.lifedotsport.com/support} . We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce this Agreement.
2 Uses of the information
We use information held about you in the following ways:
• To ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.
• For internal marketing analysis and administration.
• To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
• To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
• To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so.
• To notify you about changes to our service.
Where you have given consent we may also use your data, or permit selected third parties to use your data, to provide you with information about goods and services which may be of interest to you. We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we may provide them with aggregate information about our Members (for example, we may inform them that 500 men aged under 30 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day). We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, women cyclists in Vermont). We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers’ wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.
life.sport offers a “public profile” feature that allows Members to publish portions of their life.sport profile to the public internet. This public profile will be crawled by and displayed through search engines when someone searches for your name. life.sport does not warrant how often third-party search engines will update their caches, which may contain old public profile information.
Content distributed through life.sport’s sharing features and third party integrations may result in displaying some of your information outside of life.sport. For example, when you post content to a life.sport fansite or on a blog that is open for public discussion, your content, including your name as the contributor, may be displayed in search engine results. Or, if you have bound your life.sport account to your Twitter account, you can easily share content into both life.sport as well as to Twitter.
We may provide aggregated anonymous data about the usage of the Services to third parties for purposes that we deem, in our sole discretion, to be appropriate, including to prospective advertisers on life.sport.
We offer search services to help find information and learn more about other Members (for example, you can search for Members with particular sport or equipment that they use, or that you may know from their Sports Profile, as well as event participations. life.sport search also allows Members to find clubs, events, associations and sports federations. We use information from Member profiles and contributions to fansites, blogs, links, micro-blogs, message board, memorabilia etc to inform and refine our search service.
If you post on the discussion section of life.sport, participate in life.sport fansites, or import a blog, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you choose to provide there can be read, collected, or used by other Members of these forums, as well as Platform Developers and other third parties, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. life.sport is not responsible for the information you choose to submit in these forums. Also, some content in life.sport fansites may be public and searchable on the internet if the fansite owner has opened it for public discussions. You can delete your posts to life.sport fansites at any time. However, please note that ideas you post and information you share may be seen and used by other Members, and life.sport cannot guarantee that other Members have not made copies of or use the ideas and information that you share with others on life.sport.
In order to deliver relevant and valuable ads to you and your network, life.sport may use your name and profile photo in connection with social advertising based on content shared on life.sport. This advertising may include the fact that you have recommended or endorsed an event, equipment or coaching and training service on life.sport, followed an athlete, joined fansites or discussions, established or added content to your profile, etc., and will only be displayed to your life.sport network.
It is possible that we may need to disclose personal information, profile information and/or information about your activities as a life.sport Member when required by subpoena or other legal process, or if life.sport has a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to (a) investigate, prevent or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities or to assist government enforcement agencies; (b) to enforce the Member Agreement, to investigate and defend ourselves against any third party claims or allegations, or to protect the security or integrity of our site; and/or (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property or personal safety of life.sport, our Members, employees, or others.
We may also disclose your personal information and other information you provide to affiliates or to another third party as part of a sale of some or all of the assets of life.sport, dotSport LLC, or a subsidiary or division, or as the result of a change in control, dissolution or reorganization of life.sport, dotSport LLC, or a subsidiary or division thereof or in the event of a sale or divesture of assets through bankruptcy. Any third party to which life.sport transfers or sells life.sport’s assets, which include personal or other information, may have the right to continue to use the personal and other information that you provide to us.
3. Your Information Choices
You can review the personal information you provided to us and make any desired changes to the information you publish, or to the settings for your life.sport account including your email and contact preferences, at any time by logging in to your account on the life.sport website. Please be aware that even after your request for a change is processed, life.sport may, for a time, retain residual information about you in its backup and/or archival copies of its database.
Because the mission of life.sport is to connect the world’s sports enthusiasts and participants to enable them to become more interconnected, we have established what we believe to be reasonable default settings that they desire. Because Members may use and interact with life.sport in a variety of ways, and because those uses may change over time, we designed our settings to provide our Members granular control over the information they share. We encourage our Members to review their account settings and adjust them in accordance with their preferences.
life.sport accounts are also defaulted to allow Members to be contacted to participate in polls, surveys and partner advertising
You can close your account by requesting the administrator through the ife.sport contact button. If you close your life.sport account, we will remove your name and other personally identifiable information from our publicly viewable database. If you close your account, we have no obligation to retain your information, and may delete any or all of your account information without liability. However, we may retain certain data contributed by you if life.sport believes it may be necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, or for legitimate business purposes, such as analysis of aggregated, non-personally identifiable data, account recovery, or if required by law. life.sport may also retain and use your information if necessary to provide the Services to other Members. For example, just as an email you may send to another person through an email service provider resides in that person’s inbox even after you delete it from your sent files or close your account, emails or InMails you send on life.sport to other Members, as well as your contributions to life.sport Answers or fansites, may remain visible to others after you have closed your account. Similarly, other information you have shared with others, or that other Members have copied, may also remain visible. life.sport disclaims any liability in relation to the deletion or retention (subject to the terms herein) of information or any obligation not to delete the information. life.sport does not control when search engines update their cache, which may contain certain public profile information that has since been removed from life.sport’s publicly viewable database.
If we learn that a Member is deceased, we may memorialize the Member’s account. In these cases we may restrict profile access, remove messaging functionality, and close an account if we receive a formal request from the Member’s next of kin or other proper legal request to do so.
4. Your Obligations
As a Member, you have certain obligations to other Members. Some of these obligations are imposed by applicable law and regulations, and others have become commonplace in Member-friendly communities of like-minded members such as life.sport:
• You must, at all times, abide by the terms and conditions of the then-current Privacy Policy and Member Agreement. This includes respecting all intellectual property rights that may belong to third parties (such as trademarks or photographs).
• You must not download or otherwise disseminate any information that may be deemed to be injurious, violent, offensive, racist or xenophobic, or which may otherwise violate the purpose and spirit of life.sport and its community of Members.
• You must not provide to life.sport and/or other Members information that you believe might be injurious or detrimental to your personal or to your professional or social status.
• You must keep your Member name and password confidential and not share it with others.
Any violation of these guidelines may lead to the restriction, suspension or termination of your account at the sole discretion of life.sport.
5. Important information
Children and Minors
Children under the age of 18 are not eligible to use our service.
Safe Harbor
life.sport participates in the EU Safe Harbor Privacy Framework as administered by the United States Department of Commerce as a data controller, and has self-certified our privacy practices as consistent with U.S.-E.U. Safe Harbor principles: Notice, Choice, Onward Transfer, Access and Accuracy, Security, Data Integrity and Enforcement. As part of our participation in the Safe Harbor Privacy Framework, life.sport has agreed to TRUSTe dispute resolution for disputes relating to our compliance with it.
Please note that by becoming a Member, you have given us your express and informed consent to transfer the data that you provide to us to the United States and to process it in the United States.

Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time, upon notice. In the event there are significant changes in the way we treat your personally identifiable information, or in the Privacy Policy document itself, we will display a notice on the life.sport website so that you may review the changed terms prior to continuing to use the site. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all information that life.sport has about you and your account.
Using the life.sport Services after a notice of changes has been sent to you or published on our site shall constitute consent to the changed terms or practices.
6. Security
In order to help secure your personal information, access to your data on life.sport is password-protected, and sensitive data (such as credit card information) is protected by SSL encryption when it is exchanged between your web browser and the life.sport website.
