My old friend and sea dog, Rick Haller is coaching Jessica Winkler, a Canadian kiteboarder, to compete in the upcoming Kite Speed World Championships The event runs July 6th thru the 15th in Salin De Giraud, France.
This link shows the five (stunning) competitors! I wonder if you have to be beautiful to go fast on a kiteboard...? Maybe that's my problem! Argh!

Bio - Jessica's been kiting for many years. She had her first lesson in Mancora, Peru. Four months later, she was riding in Jericoacoara, Brazil and fell in love with the place. She stayed for a year and a half to help build the Club Mistral / Skyriders resort. In 2010, she started the only kite school in Nicaragua. But now Jessica has found her kitesurfing paradise, where she can ride the wind 10 months of the year, in Progreso, Yucatan.
