At first, I thought you were saying that the race organizers were requiring physicals of all entered runners.

After reading the article, I realize that a doctor is simply recommending annual physicals.  And if you haven't had one for a few years, then you should before running a marathon.

Thank you Tom for your comments. I believe this precaution would save lives. Remember accidental deaths that happen during marathons such as the one that happened in Chicago last year.
