Push Up Challenge

Today I logged 140 push ups as part of our Koguma Dojo push up challenge.  It was the first week were everyday the amount was three digits.  The total of five days 650!  I am loving the challenge and seeing the results on my body.

The remain portion it is going to be a steep climb, but I am looking to successfully complete it.

Oh, did we mention the push ups are all happening on our knuckles...?  As Daniel notes the results are showing... It's now up to 150 - 2335 push ups to date, since we started the Challenge on August 25th.  So, after effectively one month of daily push ups, three serious callouses are growing on both of my hands!  Interestingly, one callous (on both hands) doesn't make any contact with the floor; rather it is the place where my thumb locks across my fingers to make a tight fist... While they are still somewhat tender, when I put my fists to the floor today, I do believe that my knuckles are getting used to the 'heavy lifting' and that I'll hardly notice it when I hit the floor for 250 on the final day of the Challenge three weeks from now. The way your body gets shaped with a simple exercise is the main motivation to keep going.  The skin of the knuckles gets tender then callous forms to make it tougher.  Mine is in between adding a another challenge to the challenge; discomfort during the push ups.  So far I have logged the daily amount in sets of 30 or 35 well done.  40 is my goal.  Finding time to do them is another challenge as the amount increses.  A challenge full of little challenges.  I think our Push Up Challenge is about endurace and discipline to complete a task at hand.

I have to admit I don't see myself not doing daily push ups after the challenge is over!
