I am sure that any extreme sport athlete would find it a blessing to leave this world doing what they love to do, but for those left behind the question is: was it truly worth it?
Williamsburg-based deep-water diver Nick Mevoli passed at only 34 while attempting to break the US record at one of the top free diving competitions, Vertical Blue, held in the Bahamas. Could not agree more with Ron! It's 120 today and I can certainly see changes in the muscle definition in my shoulders and arms...just loving it!

In an article on the NY Times from July 22nd I found out that while women athletes still lag far behind men when it comes to endorsements, with very few exceptions, the Olympics celebrates and showcases the athleticism of women almost as much as it does for men (I guess we'll soon find out whether this is true or not!).
One interesting fact, is that this year, for the first time, the American contingent of athletes comprises more women (269) than men (261).
